About the project

My research began with identifying the most commonly used fabrics in modern clothing. Fabrics used in manufacturing clothes generally fall into two categories: natural and synthetic. I then browsed popular fashion retailers' websites (ASOS, H&M, Zara, etc) to find clothes made from both natural and synthetic materials.

Further research went into identifying fabric wholesalers, the price of each type of fabric per kilogram, and estimates on how long they take to decompose. With all this information (plus a bit of arithmetic), I was able to calculate the environmental costs involved in the production of each item of clothing I found, and synthesise all this data onto an elegant, single-page website.
